Time to think about the new year

I’ve never been a big advocate of New Year’s resolutions, but the end of the year always makes me think back over the year that was.

Did I accomplish the goals and hopes I had at the beginning of the year?

Should I make resolutions and goals for the upcoming year?

I know that I’m not any closer to where I want to be with my writing…and that’s a problem.

So, what am I going to do about it? Complaining and doing the same thing (nothing) again next year isn’t going to make any difference and won’t get me closer to my goals.

So, this year—as decided moments before I typed these words—I’m going to post my 2023 writing goals to this blog and send it out to my socials. Make it public.

Like most of you, I’ve seen thought leaders saying that you shouldn’t spout off what you are going to do—you should simply just do it and let the results speak for themselves.

I mostly agree, but I want the public post that I can refer to throughout the year to keep track of and maybe get a public prodding from readers asking how it’s going.

So, watch this space to see what the new year has in store.
